Centering Prayer

Centering Prayer (n.): A contemplative spiritual discipline involving silent, wordless prayer to foster a deeper connection with God. Practitioners quiet the mind and heart, often using a sacred word or phrase to refocus when distracted, to rest in God’s presence and surrender to divine will. (Foster, Celebration of Discipline; Willard, The Spirit of the Disciplines)
